DREADLOCK EXTENSIONS

MY EXPERIENCE

Mileena Here!

In 2020 my hair was thin, damaged, and my biggest insecurity. All I wanted was long thick hair, but the cost of human hair extensions was unsustainable for me. Then I found dreadlock extensions. I had no idea there was a temporary version of dreadlocks where I didn't have to commit AND I could help protect and heal my hair. The day I found Dreadfull Hippie dreadlocks I ordered them and the day they arrived my husband helped me install them. I have been wearing locs ever since :)
It might sound dramatic... but these extensions changed my life by giving me a confidence and edge I never knew I had. It is more to me than just "hair" or "style" it is about empowering myself and other women to feel their best and live everyday with confidence.

Video Tutorials

  • Can I wear a hair wrap if I don't have dreadlocks?
Of course! Anyone can wear a hair wrap. They are super easy to install even on loose brushable hair. You can either choose to braid it in or attach it to a braid. Check out a video I made showing how you install them. Note: Depending on your hair density and desired look, you may want a thinner one to blend in more cohesively.
  • Can I request custom lengths and thickness for a hairwrap?
Of course! If you select custom hair wrap you are able to fully customize a wrap to your favorite length and colors. Check it out here! :)
  • Can you swim with a hair wrap in?
Hair wraps are safe to be in the water. However, some more delicate accessories connected to the wraps, like feathers, could be damaged or worn down. Use your best judgment.
  • Do hair wraps damage your natural hair?
Absolutely not! Wraps are very easy to install and if done properly, they leave no damage to your hair, they are simply braided in or attached to a braid/dreadlock.
  • Are there variations between the photos and the actual wraps you receive in person?
Since these wraps are handmade with natural items, there may be very slight variations in color shades, bead shapes, wood patterns etc. So yes, the wrap will look 95% identical to the photo, but may have a slight variation.
  • What is the difference between standard and Petite hair wraps?
Each hair wrap is created uniquely and vary slightly in size, but standard wraps are generally about the thickness of a sharpie and petite are generally the thickness of a pencil. They can be worn in both brushable hair and locs, but petite tend to be favored by those without locs because they are lighter and blend into the natural hair better. On the other hand, some people like bigger ones in their natural hair, it's all just preference :)
  • Why are the hair wraps all priced so differently?
The hair wraps vary in price due to the differing materials and time each one takes. Some wraps take twice as long to make than another. Also, some wraps have higher quality items or special items brought back from locals communities across the globe. All these factors go into how we price each uniquely designed wrap for you :)
  • Do you use any fake fragrances in your scalp oil?
Absolutely not! Everything put into our scalp oil is completely natural. Nothing extra added, just pure oils that have been used since ancient times.
  • Do you need to have dreadlocks to use the scalp oil?
No way! These blends of oils that have been used since ancient times, nourish the scalp directly, making them great for all hair types.
  • Is your Palo Santo wood ethically sourced?
Our Palo Santo sticks come harvested straight from Ecuador. They are sustainably and ethically sourced from trees that have naturally died. During this decomposition process the tree is compressed, secreting it’s oil and acquiring its medicinal and aromatic properties. The trees remain uncollected for three to four years and are then harvested to create these beautiful little pieces of magic.
